Lardis tops fitness testing at CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game

Nick Lardis of the Hamilton Bulldogs has topped fitness testing at the 2023 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

Lardis, slotted outside FCHockey’s Midterm ranking for the 2023 NHL Draft, ranked fifth in the 30M backwards skate, fifth in weave agility, first in weave agility with the puck, fifth in transition ability, second in transition ability with the puck, first in reaction, and fourth in reaction with the puck.

The 17-year-old, who also spent time with the Peterborough Petes this season, has 32 points (19 goals, 13 assists) in 44 games this season.

Hunter Brzustewicz of the Kitchener Rangers and Carey Terrance of the Erie Otters finished second and third respectively in the sport testing combine. Cam Allen of the Guelph Storm was fourth and Tanner Molendyk of the Saskatoon Blades finished fifth.

Connor Bedard, the consensus No. 1 pick for the 2023 draft, finished in the top five in one event — transition ability with puck.

The CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game is set for Wednesday in Langley, B.C.
