Jakob Ihs Wozniak is on quite a run, and other draft eligibles who are impressing

Jakob Ihs Wozniak is drawing attention to himself. In a good way.

Ihs Wozniak, who has been inconsistent at times this season, is proving he can shake that by continually putting up impressive numbers with Lulea HF in J20 Nationell — Sweden’s top junior circuit. The 18-year-old forward has 52 points (18 goals, 34 assists) in 34 league games this season, while adding another 20 points (12 goals, eight assists) in 20 games for Sweden on the international stage.

“Ihs Wozniak is a detailed, strong player who does the little things right,” FCHockey scout Samuel Tirpak said. “He works hard and is detailed on and off the puck, using his size to win battles and skate out of them with possession to create offense in tight spaces. He is really good puck protector and has an all-around offensive skillset to have a realistic NHL projection — even outside of a top-six realm. Ihs Wozniak can also play as a center in a pinch if really necessary and being a right-hand option in that is a valuable asset to have.”

The past week was evidence of Ihs Wozniak’s prowess.

The no. 41 ranked prospect in FCHockey’s winter ranking for the 2025 draft had consecutive multi-point outings in each of Lulea’s three games, totalling seven points (two goals, five assists) in two wins and a loss.

Ihs Wozniak, who has points in 11 straight J20 games and 13 of 14 overall including international friendlies, continues to be one of the top scoring Swedes eligible for the 2025 draft. In fact, no player in J20 has more points, and only teammate Filip Holst Persson has more goals at 22. Ihs Wozniak’s 1.53 points per game mark is also tops in the league.

“His raw offensive talent is undeniable… his hands are smooth, his release is lightning-quick, and his one-timer is absolutely lethal,” FCHockey scout Greysen Goudy said. “He’s a strong, agile skater who keeps the puck close to his body, making it extremely difficult to strip him of possession. When he’s at his best, he looks like a top-five pick, dancing through defenders and creating high-danger chances with ease.”

Here’s who else has impressed over the past seven days:

Michael Misa | Saginaw Spirit (OHL)

Michael Misa is having a season for the ages. Misa, FCHockey’s no. 4 prospect, is the second-fastest draft eligible in the last 25 seasons to reach 50 goals in the Ontario Hockey League. Only Patrick Kane, in 2006-07, managed to hit the benchmark in fewer games (47) than Misa (50). Misa reached the milestone while putting up seven points (six goals, one assist) in three games.

The recently-turned 18 year old has a Canadian Hockey League-leading 106 points (50 goals, 56 assists) this season.

Justin Carbonneau | Blainville-Boisbriand Armada (QMJHL)

Justin Carbonneau continues to shine in his draft year, too. The elite offensive winger has 73 points (38 goals, 35 assists) in 50 games to lead draft-eligible scoring in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League. The Blainville-Boisbriand forward had six points (four goals, two assists) in a pair of wins and a shootout loss in the past week.

Carbonneau, no. 15 in FCHockey’s winter rankings, continues to impress scouts with his offensive prowess.

Kale Dach | Sherwood Park Cruauders (BCHL)

Kale Dach has been lighting it up for the Sherwood Park Crusauders in 2024-25. The 5-foot-11 center has 70 points (15 goals, 55 assists) in 42 games — second most in the entire British Columbia Hockey League — and he continues to pile it on. Dach, who is committed to joining Calgary in the Western Hockey League for the 2025-2026 season, scored seven points (two goals, five assists) in a pair of games this past week.

He didn’t crack FCHockey’s winter ranking, but is making a case to have his name called at the 2025 draft in June.
